Frequently Asked Questions
General
How close is your campground to Washington, DC? How do I get there?
We are 17 miles from the National Mall. We offer guided tours and an Express Bus, or you can take public transit; all options depart from our on-site bus depot. For more information, see our Transportation page.
Can I have visitors to my cabin or campsite?
Yes! Daytime visitors are allowed in accordance with our Visitor’s Policy, but they must be pre-registered. You can save on the visitors fee by pre-registering online when you book.
Can I bring my pet camping with me?
Yes! We allow pets in all RV sites and in select glamping pods and premium log cabins, and a dog walking service and dog parks are just some of our amenities. Sadly, pets are not permitted in our tent sites. See our Pet Policy here.
Activities & Amenities
Do you offer day or pool passes?
We limit the use of our amenities to overnight guests and their visitors. We do not sell separate day use passes.
When do the pools open & close for the year?
We try to open our pools in mid-April, and we usually close them after Columbus Day weekend in mid-October. However, weather is unpredictable! If there’s a chilly or rainy spring or fall, those dates can change.
When is Halloween Weekend?
We hold our Halloween festivities one week prior to the weekend that most people typically celebrate Halloween. We finalize the itinerary in early fall, but you can always see general info on our Halloween page. When you book, tell us you’re here for Halloween in the “comments” section of the booking page so we can put you in the trick-or-treating area!
Booking
How far in advance can I book?
You can book up to 1 year in advance on our booking page, but if you’re not seeing availability or want to book farther ahead than that, contact us and we’ll get you all set!
Do you offer seasonal or monthly rates?
We don’t offer seasonal or monthly rates. We offer reduced nightly rates for some longer-term stays. If you’re interested in finding out if you qualify, please contact us.
RV & Tent Sites
Can I get an RV or tent site next to my friends?
Of course! The only guarantee is to book adjacent premium sites - but if you’d prefer standard sites, put your request in “comments” with everyone’s names and confirmation numbers. We do our best to honor every request and usually can get folks pretty close.
How wide are the RV sites?
RV parking pads are 12’ wide, and the sites average a total of 30’ wide.
Can I pitch a tent at my RV site next to my RV?
We cannot guarantee your RV site will have room for a small tent, but if you request it in comments we will try to assign you a site that will fit one. The tent must be a 2-person pup tent or smaller.
